A very warm welcome to all our new teams and to those of you who have been with the Walsall Junior Youth Football League in previous seasons.

In the 1949/50 Season Portsmouth won the league, Wolves were 2nd, Villa 12th , The Baggies 14th and the Blues were relegated along with Manchester City.

This was 75 years ago, when more importantly The Walsall Junior Youth Football League was formed.

All these years later, would the original committee consisting of Sid Gutteridge, Fred Dunning and Jack Loftus, have expected the League to still be going strong, with over 100,000 local children able to enjoy playing football in a safe and friendly environment since 1949.  Let us hope the League is still here for another 75 years.

This season is also the 25th anniversary of Mini Soccer. This has been a popular format since its inception and continues to grow every year with nearly 300 teams registered for this season.

Welcome from the Chair

The success of the League is a team effort between all of us; your League Committee, Clubs, Teams, Managers, Referees, Supporters and Players.

If I could offer one piece of advice, please take a moment to read the League Rules containing the FA Standard Code of Rules Youth (SCORY) prior to the start of the season. This would significantly reduce the number of sanctions taken against Clubs and provide teams with essential information.

Enjoy our 75th Anniversary Season and please remember It is ONLY a game.

David Cooper, Chair OF Walsall Junior Youth Football League, August 2024

  • What is Full Time
The Full-Time FA System refers to an online platform provided by the Football Association (FA) in the UK. It is designed to manage and support grassroots football by providing essential tools and information for leagues, clubs, teams, players, and match officials. Key Features and Uses: League and Fixture Management: The system allows leagues and clubs to manage fixtures, track results, and update league tables automatically. This is particularly useful for grassroots and amateur leagues where organization and communication are key. Team Administration: Clubs can manage player registrations, squad lists, and team sheets. The platform supports administrative tasks like confirming match details, reporting scores, and handling player transfers. Matchday and Referee Tools: Referees can use the platform to check their match appointments, record match results, and submit reports. The system also handles referee assignments and ensures matchday requirements are met. Player and Club Data: The Full-Time FA System maintains comprehensive databases of players, clubs, and teams, allowing for easier access to relevant information for all stakeholders involved. Communication Hub: The system acts as a communication tool where fixtures, updates, and important announcements can be shared directly between leagues, clubs, and players. Public Access: The platform also serves as a public-facing website where fans and players can view league tables, results, and upcoming fixtures. In essence, the Full-Time FA System simplifies the administration and organization of grassroots football, making it easier for everyone involved to stay informed and focus on the game.
